Students have been working to investigate the relationship between electricity and magnetism by building an electromagnet. During the phase of student inquiry, students were able to investigate how electric currents in a wire wrapped around a bolt creates a magnetic field. As a result of this investigation, students were able to conclude that the effects of a magnetic field can be seen at a distance.

Now that a new year is upon us, this makes the perfect opportunity for students to make a New Year’s Resolution. This is a time to reflect on the successes and weakness of the past year and set goals for the new one ahead. I encourage all students to sit down and brainstorm a list of goals that they would like to accomplish. Then, determine a plan on how to make this goal a reality. Setting a goal is great, but in order for it to be accomplished you need to have a plan of action. Happy New Year! I hope that all students are able to accomplish their goals for the new year. |
AuthorMy name is Mr. Bliven and I have been teaching at Matsunaga for 13 years. I love teaching and view education as a lifelong journey. Although I already hold several graduate degrees from McDaniel College and Johns Hopkins, I was thrilled to have recently completed my graduate certificate in technology integration from the University of Florida. I plan to continue my graduate studies and I am looking forward to using the strategies that I learn with my students. Archives
